Who’s been spending a lot of time at home??? With our “new” normal keeping us at home more than usual I thought I’d shared my top 10 ways to get your home on-point! Given that we’re all spending a lot more time their than usual, now seems like an ideal time to tackle those spring cleaning projects to get things in tip-top shape for summer. Here’s a Style Mood Board I put together that I hope will inspire you.
1. Replace or add a new area rug in the main living space.
Not only will this give your house a different feel, but, from a design standpoint, it anchors a room and makes it feel more cohesive.
2. Re-arrange your furniture.
Moving the furniture around can make it feel like an entirely new space! It could even transform a space in your home from under-utilized to a favorite destination.
3. Paint your exterior door with a new color.
Refreshing your front door can really impact your curb appeal. Try a new color that’s still a classic, like navy or bronze.
4. Change up a shelf or bookcase with existing decor.
You may not even have to buy anything new—just take your existing decor and re-arrange things, and it’ll make a big difference. Don’t be afraid to mix metals and bring things together with a neutral color palette.
5. Bring the outdoors in by adding cut branches from your yard to a vase.
This one is FREE and so pretty now that spring has sprung! You can even take dried branches and spray paint them for an on-trend look.
6. Switch up your throw pillows.
Think of a color pattern that will make you happy and then splurge on those throw pillows you have been eyeing! Since we’re spending so much time at home, it’s worth making an investment that’ll make you feel happier in your space.
7. Get a new doormat.
A new doormat really delivers a more desirable curb appeal. You can go traditional or playful, just make sure it’s the right size for your door.
8. Change out a light fixture.
This may require an electrician if you aren’t able to do it yourself, but if you can, now is the time! Always make sure that the fixture is the right size for the space and fits your home’s style.
9. Fix the little things you’ve been putting off.
Cracked light switches, the loose cabinet door, a leaky bathroom faucet…fix these things now while you have the time.
10. Work on that curb appeal.
Add some fertilizer to your lawn to green it up then freshen up those garden beds with some fresh bark and a planting of annuals for a splash of color.
Creating the perfect at-home lifestyle can make this time a little easier!
