Summer is officially here! I’m so excited for the weather to warm up so I can put on my swimsuit. I know so many of you have been basking in the sun and heat for a while now, well not here in the PNW! Yesterday it was a high of 60 degrees and I wore my winter jacket. This is a hard one for this MN native to get used to. I’m ready for the heat and humidity come April and it’s a long time to wait until the 4th of July for summer to start. But I’ve made it! Let us talk swimsuits. This isn’t an easy topic and a lot of people dread the swimsuit season. Let’s just say most of us feel there are areas of our bodies we don’t completely love. We all have it no matter what shape or size. But at 39, I’m embracing my body. It gave me two boys and let me nurse them, it’s not perfect and never will be but I am thankful that I can do the things that I need to and I will continue to strive to be the best version of myself. I want to be an example for my kiddos to be confident in themselves and to own who they are. My hope is for all of you to also own it! So put on that swimsuit and have fun this summer! Strive for progress over perfection!
As a Stylist, I think a huge factor in feeling confident is finding the right fit for you. Here are some tips you might not have thought of…
- Two-piece swimsuits are great because you can buy two different sizes if need be.
- The high waisted bottoms are on-trend + a great option for someone that doesn’t feel confident in a low-rise.
- If you need extra help bring a friend, your honest friend, and try on as many suits as it takes!
- Accentuate your positive areas, you know what they are!
- Accessorizing makes everything a little better! You know what I mean?
This is how I approach swimsuit shopping! I suggest you find a way that works for you so you can be confident in that suit and enjoy the pool or lake party’s this summer! Here are a few summer styles that I think you will love! I’ve included all the extras too for easy shopping for you! If you’re curious about my workout routine, more details are here.
