For all of you Justin Timberlake fans out there you know what I’m referencing with my title, right?! I’m actually going to his concert this year and may have joined his Tennesee Kids Fanclub just to get better seats (yep, I did!). But that’s not what this blog post is about, I just couldn’t help myself with that title. But I hope you were imaging the country life with some camo and plaid! Yes, I dressed the part of a Woman of the Woods on our weekend get-away.
My family and I just had the opportunity to visit Leavenworth Washington, which is about a 3-hour drive from Seattle for those that aren’t local. This town is the cutest! I’m not native to WA so I can’t speak to its history but to sum it up it’s a gorgeous Bavarian-styled village nestled in the Cascade Mountains! Seriously, any movie coming to mind? The hills are alive with The Sound of Music!
Imagine Alpine-style buildings and restaurants serving German beer and brats that are mouthwatering. There is a Nutcracker Museum that displays thousands of nutcrackers and many more quaint shops to visit. In the winter months, there are nearby ski areas and it’s on the Wenatchee River which gives you some extra activities in the summer months as well. There are also a growing number of wineries and distilleries that I personally checked out for you! It’s definitely a must-see place!
That all sounds great, right! But where do you stay? There are some hotels and motels near town, I’m sure they’ll leave the light on for ya, pun intended! But I think that truly takes away from the experience of this area. I wanted to share with you the most amazing Airbnb cabin that we stayed at! This place is brand new and was adorably decorated with a rustic chic feel. They had a full kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms (with heated floors, no roughing it for this Woman of the Woods…wink, wink), and a cozy family room with a fireplace decked out with comfy blankets and family games. I loved the extra details like the barn doors that slide to reveal the bedrooms and the stackable washer and dryer that’s there to use if the need arises. The kids loved the Amazon Echo Dot and WiFi that was included too! This cabin was so comfortable for our family of four to just relax in and enjoy our time. We got to see some wildlife and enjoy the views of the mountains all around. It truly felt like a retreat and we all had so much fun! Pictures speak a thousand words so I’ve got some to share.
Shannon and Mike, the owners, were a dream to work with and we even got to meet their sweet dogs. They live on the property as well so it is easy to ask questions or get help if you need it. The check-in/check-out process was easy as well. Here is a link to the cabin for all the details and to reserve your time to get away! You won’t regret it. If this property is booked when you want it, they do have another option so just send them a note.
Here is a recap of some of the places we visited and are definitely worth stopping by:
Breakfast place: O’Grady Pantry at Sleeping Lady – super yummy lattes and brunch items
Wine Tasting: Goose Ridge Vineyards – came home with a bottle of their Vireo + Rose
Beer Tasting: Icicle Brewing Company – I had an apricot cider that was refreshing and unique
Distillery Tasting: Blue Spirits: The lime infused tequila came home with us for margaritas
